Goodbye Penner.....

Abi makes a play(what!)
Abi finally made a plan, without someone else to guide her.  This is the first move that Abi has made by herself.   Abi decided in the auction to wait for an advantage and spend all of her money on that.  The only problem I have with this move is that the allaince should have jumped at the chance.  This is the faltal flaw that the allaince made in this episode. If the allaince would have anticipated this item coming up for auction, then Penner might still be there.  Bad move from the allaince, but great money spent by Abi. The money bought Abi a spot in the finals of the immunity challenge.  Without this money, Abi is probably out in the first two rounds. So good play Abi, but I still hope you go home.
Penner takes a bow
Penner is gone! This makes me so sad, I was rooting for Penner all the way.  He played a great game and actually one of the most straight-up games he has played during his time on Survivor. However, since he played a straight-up game he made several mistakes, that cost him the money.  Penner didn't take the final four deal with Lisa and Michael, this ended up costing him the most.  If Penner would have taken the deal, then it would have been Denise going home, assuming that Malcolm would have played his idol.  I wanted Penner to make it to the end this time.  He was playing a good game and made a lot of good moves, but alas it was not meant to be. Maybe next time Penner, and I can't wait to hear your jury question.
Lisa's flip-flopping ways
Of all the people on this season that dive me crazy Lisa takes the cake.  Lisa says she loves the game, but then says this game isn't for her.  She tries to play the game but then she feels bad and tells Penner that he is going home.  This drives me crazy and I'm surprised the castaways didn't just flip the script on Lisa and vote her out.  Yes she's a nice lady and you might have a chance against her in the finals but she's such a wild card that her cons outweigh her pros.  Lisa needs to go, she can't commit to a plan and keep her mouth shut.  Please let Lisa be the next person to go, please.  I want Lisa to go so some other people can stay (Denise, Malcolm, and Carter)

The Survivor catch-up blog

Abi vs. Dangrayne
In the last episode, Abi talked about how she didn't know how she was preceived by the tribe. She also said one of those famous lines that makes me laugh everytime, "I am very loved by my family and friends" or something to that effect.  This makes me laugh, because of course your family and friends love you that's why they are your family and friends.  Telling people this on Survivor is somewhat of a moot point.  I originally thought that some of her problems with other castaways could be attributed to her youth, but then  I found out that she is 32, so that blows my theory out of water. She does look really young, in my defense.  Abi just doesn't get certain things and know that I know her age I find her attitude to just be awful. Really you don't want to cook anymore, but you do want to eat? Get up off your but and help or just don't say anything at all.  Good luck winning Survivor Abi, maybe Angie will give you cookies.
Pete and Artis take the fall
Pete and Artis have fallen victim to what I call the 'Abi disease'.  The 'Abi disease' stems from her not knowing how to interact with the other castaways.  Now it was brought up in the last episode that it could be cultural and yes that is probably part of it but not all of it.  Pete and Artis did choose to align with Abi and did choose to act the way they did towards Mike, RC and Lisa.  I'm not saying that the others are saints or angels and have never done anything wrong, but I maintain that no one deserves to be ostracized from a team ever.  Be cordial to people and treat them the way you want to be treated.  Back to Pete and Artis, I wish Abi would have been the first to go.
Penner's Mistake?
Penner is redeeming himself this time.  He came in with a reputation of being a snake and  has actually been playing on the level.  However, Penner maybe so obsessed with playing on the level that he isn't making moves that would help him win the game.  For example, not taking a final four deal when asked and wanting to stick to what the alliance said they would do.  This is not a good move, especially since now he is on the outs of the alliance of six.
Lisa- Power Player?
Lisa has surprisingly come to forefront as a power player.  I don't know how this happened but it did.  I have nothing against Lisa but it seems that she comes in and out of playing the game.  She has moments where she wants to stay loyal but moments where she wants to get rid of a strong player.  It seems that everyone wants Lisa to stay around but I don't know if she will go to finals.  Lisa might win because she is so well liked.  Denise is also very well liked but she has a better chance of winning than Lisa.  Denise can win her way to the end, while Lisa might not be able to.  Lisa has stepped up to the plate and made some game altering moves.

The Challenge episode 7- Word of the Day:Respect

Sorry it's been a while, time got away from me last week, as well as not having a lot to say about the episode. So here are my thoughts on episode 7.
Brooklyn finally wins!!!
Yeah!!! Brooklyn won a challenge!!! I was so excited to see that someone from the alliance didn't win.  What was more exciting was that this challenge was based purely on performance.  The time for the alliance has finally ended.  This challenge and the insane games are the first challenges that having an alliance didn't help you in the actual challenge.  This is refreshing from the past challenges, where being in an alliance can dictate the winner.  If this challenge is any indication of the final, which it seems like it might be, San Diego has no chance of winning the final.  Unless they get their crap together, San Diego will not win.  They can't communicate and can't keep calm during a challenge. These elements combine to mean that they won't win a final.
So long NOLA
I was sad to see NOLA go.  I wis that is would have been Sam and Frank in the elimination, just because I want to see Frank go.  Frank is cocky and thinks that he deserves to make it to the end of the challenge.  Frank, I wish that I could send just you home.  Send Frank home and bring in Nate.  I think that Nate is the only guy left from San Diego, so he would be the only person that could come on as a replacement.  So sad to see NOLA go, come back and take Frank with you, please!

The Challengers version of RESPECT
This season the competitors have an interesting version of respect.  From the way that Camilla treated Eric during their arena.  Now, there's the way that Frank and Zach treated Sam.  TJ called it right, when under pressure, how you treat each other matters-a lot.  By not being able to make it through this challenge without yelling at each other, how are you going to make it through a final as a team.  Cancun had the right idea, if your teammate can't make it through a challenge, then help them.  That's the best thing you can do.  Don't yell at them and make them want to shut down, but encourage them to keep going.  San Diego, take a cue from Cancun and St. Thomas: don't yell and scream at each, but instead come together and be a team.

Challenge MVP-
This week's Challenge MVP is a tie between Sam and Sara.  Sam because she stood up for herself during the challenge and then owned up to her performance not being up to par in the challenge.  Sam might not be able to carry logs up a hill but that's no excuse to yell at  her.  In fact I think she did what Ashley can't, put feelings aside and won in the arena.  I don't have that much faith in Ashley and I think the only reason she didn't get yelled at during this challenge was Sam's performance.  Sara is the MVP for Brooklyn.  Sara gets the credit for Brooklyn based on her confessional about putting the puzzle together at the log station instead of waiting to do this at the top of the hill.  This might not have been her idea, but she gets the credit.

If They are Smart....
Now time for if they are smart!! If the challengers are smart, they will go after Cancun.  Cancun works together well and they perform well.  This makes  them a huge threat to win the final.  San Diego has very little chance of winning the final just based on them not being able to function as a team.  For every final that I have seen, the team that can work together is the team that wins.  Teams that fight the entire way through are less likely to make through a final.  So get rid of Cancun and keep the 2 person teams around.  These teams have a disadvantage in the challenges and throwing them in the arena is a waste.  Let the 2 person team lose and get in the arena that way, instead hope for an upset and put in a team that you want to see go home.

Survivor Episode 8- Lost Opportunity?

Sorry for no blog last week, but time caught up with me.  I was thinking about posting something after work, but then I realized that a new episode is airing so it makes last week's episode kinda a mute point.  Ok now on to this week's episode.

Lisa-Please Pick a SIDE
The main thing that stuck out to me during this episode was that Lisa couldn't pick a side.  She even said at tribal that she was a double agent.  Really, and you wanna win.  The weird thing about her speech, is that it didn't make me hate her but kinda made me think that she could get away with it.  What did make me hate her was her telling Pete and Skupin about Malcolm's idol and her saying that she still kept her word.  Really, last I checked telling Malcolm you wouldn't do something and then doing it, means that you LIED, or at least DIDN'T KEEP YOUR WORD. This shows that Lisa can't be trusted.  She doesn't think in black and white, only shades of gray.  This is a problem especially if you make the finals and have to rationalize your decisions for the jury.  Lying but saying that you didn't really isn't a good way to get votes for the million.  Heads up Lisa, you might want to pick a side, like 5 days ago.

Good vs. Evil?
I don't understand this good vs. evil that seems to be going on.  Just because people are negative doesn't mean that they are evil and you are the good ones.  I don't get that at all.  It really doesn't make that much sense to me at all, but I only see these people for an hour each week.  I do applaud the players that see bringing an 'evil' person to the end greatly increases your chances of winning.  As much as I would hate this, I that Abi has a great chance of going far, since no one likes her. Even Pete doesn't like her.  That says something about her.  As for the 'good' people see the paragraph on Penner for his past gameplay.  I could see likable and not liked but this good/evil labeling drives me crazy.

Penner and the Snake
Penner lucked out with the immunity challenge.  With is being an elimination style challenge, Penner just had to make it past round one and then he had a significantly better chance for immunity.  I did like how Penner won his first immunity challenge with a snake puzzle.  Penner is thought to be one of the sneakiest people in Surivor, he was also called a 'snake' and a 'rat' on his first season of Survivor.  This just shows that this win was meant to be.
3 Strikes and You're Out...Jeff Kent
Yes this is corny I know, but I couldn't help it.  I actually thought that Jeff was gonna win based on what was shown in the past couple of episodes.  The last few episodes have made Jeff out to be a power player and someone in control of the game.  It seemed as though he was in a good position to win the game, he was likable, athletic, and had a strong mental game.  This elements all come together to form a winner in Surivor. But Jeff played with fire too many times.  He was obsessed with getting rid of the returning players and this ultimately hurt his game.  If  Jeff had at least faked loyalty to Penner, then maybe he could have stayed longer, but he didn't.  Sorry Jeff your obsession got the best of you.  Talk to Dawson about want she gets since you didn't win, maybe she'll ask for cookies!

The Lost Opportunity??
Jeff Probst really confused me with his 'lost opportunity' comment at the end of tribal. Maybe getting rid of Malcolm, I don't know.  Malcolm called people's bluff and it worked for him.  By just saying he would play the idol worried people enough to not vote for him.  It's also possible that no one really was considering voting for Malcolm except for Lisa.  I don't know.  I think Malcolm made a good move.  As for Abi, you didn't have to show your idol! No one knew you had it, so you didn't have to tell people that you had it.  Oh well, hopefully this will just get you eliminated quicker (I can only hope).

For your viewing pleasure Bradley Cooper and his look-a-like, Malcolm:
I swear these guys look a like.

Favorite TV Witches

In the spirit of Halloween (belated, I know) and my latest obsession, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, I've decided to write about my favorite TV witches. This is just a random listing and not in a particular order.

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
This is my latest obsession.  I love this show and all of the main witches in the show.  These witches include, Sabrina, Zelda, Hilda and Salem.  I count Salem as a witch on the show, since he is now a cat because of the horrible things that he did while he was a witch.  Sabrina has real life problems and comes up with creative solutions to them.  Also it's kinda cool to be able to just point and change your clothes or alter something else. Hilda is one of the strangest aunts I've ever seen on TV, she is however entertaining.
Willow going after Glory

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
How do you not have a TV witch list without Willow? She's a redhead, amazingly powerful, and cries when she breaks a yellow crayon.  Willow is super sweet, follows her heart, and is very quirky.  Being quirky adds bonus points in my book.  Willow is also true to herself, no matter if the decision is hard or easy.  Willow is kick-ass and sadly she is the only witch from the show I like.  I have nothing against Tara, but I just don't like her, so she can't make it on the list.
Vampire Diaries
Bonnie as  witch (go figure)
Bonnie Bennett is an amazing witch, friend and girlfriend.  Bonnie has had her share of heart break in the 4 seasons of the show, but she keeps going and stays loyal to her friends.  Bonnie is tough, strong and always willing to help her friends.  She also will say no to a friend if they ask too much and this is another plus concerning Bonnie.  There have been other witches on the show, but none that have lasted that long and have made me feel something for them.  Therefore, like Willow, Bonnie is the only witch from her show to make it on my list.
Charmed

Phoebe, Piper, and Paige are some of my favorite TV witches.  I love this show and love the interactions between the sisters as well as their signification others.  I started watching this show during its 5th season so I'm not a big Prue fan.  So Prue does not make my list.  Chris and Wyatt do however, I absolutely adore Chris and you have to include the most powerful witch in the Charmed realm, Wyatt.

All my favorite Halliwell witches

Taylor Swift

Yes I am a Taylor Swift fan and I got her new CD a while ago.  I've decided to just tell you what my favorite songs of hers are.  They are not listed in any particular order, since the order would change on a daily basis, but these are the songs I'm most likely to listen to, if I'm in a Taylor Swift mood. They are listed by CD and bonus tracks are included.

Taylor Swift
  • Tied Together With a Smile is a song that really strikes a cord with me. I love that the song basically says, it's okay to fail and being perfect it's the goal.  The goal of life is to live and show your faults, embrace them and learn from them.  This song and it's meaning is something I still have to learn, but I am working on.
  • I'm Only Me When I'm With You this song has described some of my friendships, specifically with my freshman roommate in college.  This has also driven me to be this way  around everyone and really not hide anything from people.  Since being yourself around only one person isn't that much fun, but I have learned to trust more people and let my guard down more around others.
  • Mary's Song is a song I love.  I think it's so sweet and just captures the mood of hope, so very well.  It also just makes you want something like that.
  • A Place in this World describes me the majority of the time perfectly.  I'm 22 and really don't know what's gonna happen and what I want to do.  Therefore this song is perfect, don't know what you want to do, this song says it's okay and you're not alone.

Fearless
  • The Other Side of the Door  is a song that I listened to after a break-up.  It is about forgiveness and really just wanting to hear someone say that they were wrong and everything will be okay.  This song is still a favorite and kinda my mantra regarding relationships.
  • Love Story is a song I was sick of when it came out, since it was always playing on the radio, but now I like it again.  It really captures the essence of love (in my mind) and doing what you want to.  It also has the epic love feel, which I'm a sucker for, the same can also be said for Mary's Song.
  • The Way I Loved You is what I want.  I really don't want someone who's gonna be 'perfect', no I want someone with flaws and who will challenge me.  The person who gives me what I want doesn't interest me, because it's like "Do you have an opinion? What do you really think?"
  • The Best Day  describes my mom perfectly.  I have thought for a while if/when I become a mother and I am half the mother she is, my kids will be fine.  Take note to moms this is how a mother/daughter relationship should work.

Speak Now
  • Speak Now is a song that is just really funny and kinda a fantasy   I kinda wonder, has anyone gone to the church and told the person they love, not to marry the other person. I know it happens in the movies, but I wonder if it happens in real life? Let me know if you know someone that this happened to.  Disclaimer I don't want the person to get hurt, I just want to know if anyone has done this.
  • Sparks Fly is a song that I was really looking forward for the music video and then it was just concerts.  Major disappointment, but not my call. I still love the song and the epicness that I interpret  as the story.
  • Mean is a great song for those who have ever been down, because the best revenge is success.  Responding to someone the same way that they hurt you, doesn't do anything but make you two the exact same. Being successful shows this person that they can't hurt you and you are better than them.

Red
  • Red really struck a cord with me, because of recent events in my personal life.  This song describes my feelings regarding the situation perfectly and I listen to this song all the time.
  • 22 is a song I love, because I am 22.  The song captures 22 perfectly, just like most of her songs do for me.
  • We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is actually the song I'm listening to right now.  It's just so much fun.  I also feel like it's a good revenge song, so it gets an 'A' in my book.  The music video is kinda strange but really funny.

Halloween TV Specials

It's been a while since I've written a blog, so just wanted to touch base and also talk about Halloween (since it's so close). I did watch The Challenge last week, but I really don't have that much to say about the episode, therefore I decided to not blog about it.  Now on to Halloween and my blog about it.  I decided not to write about movies, but instead I looked up Halloween specials and I'll talk about the ones that I watch and actually remember.  My thoughts are that if I don't remember the special then it really isn't worth talking about.  I do recommend all of these episodes, but I don't want to give too much away so I just stick to the basics.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
You can argue that for Buffy the Vampire Slayer every episode is Halloween themed, but there are specific episodes that are listed as actual Halloween episodes.  These episodes are from the even numbered seasons and are called "Halloween", "Fear Itself" and "All the Way".  I find each of these episodes enjoyable and they all contain the humor that I've come to expect from Buffy.

"Halloween" is from the 2nd season and I believe it is the first introduction of Ethan, an old friend of Giles'.  In this episode Ethan opens up a costume shop and sells costumes to the people of Sunnydale.  These costumes end up being bewitched and turn the wearer into the creature they were for Halloween.  For example Willow becomes a ghost, Buffy a princess, and Xander a solider.  Willow takes control of the group and convinces everyone that they are friends.  Buffy also learns that Angel wants her and not the girls that he knew when he was human.  She thought he wanted this and decided to be a princess for Halloween because of it.  Ethan runs away at the end, Oz notices Willow again, and we see Xander take a lead role as an army man.

Giles and Buffy's reaction to his outfit
"Fear Itself " is a 4th season episode and features one of the single funniest shots from the show, Giles in a sombrero! If you know the show and know Giles, you know how hysterical this shot is; if you don't I recommend finding out.  In this episode the Scoobies(Buffy and her friends) literally face their own fears.  The plot involves a frat party, an ancient symbol and a pint-sized demon that is stepped on by Buffy.

The last Buffy Halloween special is called "All the Way".  This episode features Dawn and her experience with a vampire, who wants to turn her or just feed from her.  This also deals with the supernatural creatures taking Halloween off, at least the older ones do.  I think in this episode Dawn stakes her first vampire, but I could be wrong.  Also this features a nice old man as a red herring.

Charmed
Phoebe starts a myth/legend about witches
I love Charmed it's one of those shows that I think I will always love.  I love it because it captures your imagination, yes witches exist and yes so do angels and yes to any other question you have.  I also love it because it showed me that women could be kick but and fight for they believe in, never give up and also just because you're the strongest doesn't mean you'll win (smarts are important too). The Halloween episode of Charmed I'll talk about is "All Hallows Eve", it's from the 3rd season and involves the sisters going back in time to the 1600's and the Salem witch trials.  The sisters end up delivering Melinda Warren (who is the start of their line and I believe created the Book of Shadows).

The Big Bang Theory
In mind my The Big Bang Theory is one of the funniest shows on TV, I love it and I  also love that is has a Halloween episode, "The Middle Earth Paradigm".  Penny throws a Halloween party and invites the guys, they meet up at Leonard and Sheldon's apartment before the party and this scene occurs.

Turns out that all of the guys decided to go as the flash. Before going they change, Sheldon goes as the Doppler Effect (insert zoom noise here) and Frodo (Leonard) meets Penny's cave man boyfriend, literally.  Raj has fun as well, so it all works out great.

One Tree Hill
Before the Batman-Haley kiss
I like the first 4 seasons of One Tree Hill, after these seasons, I just stopped watching, but one episode from the series did make this list-"An Attempt to Tip the Scales".  This features the Batman-Haley kiss and Brook tricking Lucas into dressing up as Tommy Lee.  The Nathan and Haley romance is a corner stone of the show and the Batman-Haley kiss was a mystery for awhile.  Did Haley and Nathan kiss or was it someone else (Chris)? It did  end up being Chris, but this did show that Chris could do something nice (kinda).

Smallville
This episode of Smallville features a witch with a vengeance  now I don't necessarily like season 4 the best, but this episode is funny and has some good moments.  Unfortunately I didn't find an image of my favorite scene from this episode (Lex playing the piano like a mad man, while under a spell) but I did find one of the witches.  The witches wreak havoc over Smallville to find some stones and under up getting bested by Clark, but not before putting up a fight.

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!
Let me know if you like the episodes

Survivor Philippines Episode 6- Stupid, Stupid, Deal

Reward for Rice-the Great Debate
It's that time again, another new episode of Survivor. Probably the biggest move of this episode didn't involve voting anyone out, instead it involved sandwiches, rice, reward challenge and a very unhappy birthday boy (Artis) The first match up of the reward challenge was at a stand still for over an hour, around the hour mark, Skupin and Penner decided to make a deal.  I'm kinda hazy on who actually proposed the deal at first, so I'll just credit to both of them.  This deal was Kalabaw would win the challenge, in exchange Tandang gets the rest of Kalabaw's rice.  My thoughts while this deal was being made, involved how much rice does Kalabaw have.  I mean this deal could be great for Tandang or it could be what it was and just give them a boost for 2 more days.  My biggest issue with this deal is a problem that came up with one The Challenge's blogs, the fact that they didn't compete!!  This drives me crazy, I want to see some competition and strategy, this is why I watch Survivor.  I don't really see any strategy here, except someone was tired and wanted to get something from the challenge.  Boo returning survivors, just boo.  I want to see competition, not cop-outs.

Upcoming Merge??
Everyone seems to be fixated on the idea of an upcoming merge, this drives me crazy.  In Survivor you can't predict exactly when things will happen, and assuming will only get you screwed (see Shii Ann-Survivor Thailand).  Therefore, in this game you plan ahead and adjust accordingly. You be flexible, not fixated on certain ideas.  Kalabaw has been very fixated on the idea, that Penner must go and it must be before the merge.  For whatever reason Kalabaw is convinced that Penner will rule at challenges post-merge.  Sorry to tell you, but that won't happen.  I know this based on the challenge performances from Malcolm, Denise and Pete.  Malcolm and Pete will be the indiviual immunity sweepers and therefore Tandang should think about potentially throwing a challenge to get rid of one of them.  This goes against what I said Kalabaw should do, I know, but I really want Tandang to go to tribal.  This would make my night to see Abi squirming and RC trying to deflect questions, please Survivor gods give this to me, please!! I'm very excited for the merge, cause I can't wait and see Abi start living with people that will probably talk back to her (Penner and Jeff Kent).  If you can't tell I don't like Abi, I think she should be gone and hopefully she'll be gone right at the merge, so she won't be on jury. Until then be flexible people and plan ahead, but with options.

Malcolm-the Hero
All I have to say about the immunity challenge is that it was made for Jeff and Malcolm sealed the victory for Tandang.  I really wonder if Matsing was just cursed from the beginning, because Malcolm is on a winning streak with Tandang.  I refuse to think that Denise is cursed, because I like her so much.  I disagree with Probst, because I think that Jeff and Malcolm were even in the challenge.  However, since Tandang won Malcolm is the hero not Jeff.  So sorry Jeff, maybe next challenge.

Bye, Bye Katie
Oh Katie, it was nice seeing you for two episodes, so sad you had to leave.  Like I said before, I didn't realize Katie was on the show until, the dissolution of Matsing.  What amazed me more about Katie's leaving was the consideration by the tribe to get rid of Penner instead.  Penner is more of an asset to the tribe at this point than a liability.  Katie is potentially loyal but weak in challenges and to think about people at the merge you need to get to the merge.  So bye Katie see you at the reunion, and maybe Angie will give you some cookies!

Confessions of a Former Slasher Junkie

So in high school, I used to watch the 'slasher' horror films all the time, I even wrote a paper about the genre.
This is how obsessed with the genre I was.  Well last night I was messing around on my computer and decided to go on 'imdb.com' and look up trivia on random movies.  This proved to be a mistake as I started typing in horror films and this lead to me looking at their trailers.  Well I thought that I could watch the trailers and parts of the movies with no trouble, I was wrong.  I ended staying up later than I wanted to, since after you watch a horror film you don't go to bed- you have to watch something happy or sleep with the lights on.

The choice I picked was watching "I am Number Four".  This movie was interesting and while I had heard about it from some people, it was just touch and go stuff, nothing too serious or in depth.  The main thing I remember about "I am Number Four" is thinking how much I want to watch "Beastly" again (it also stars Alex Pettyfer) and how I really want a dog like the one John had.  Even before the dog shifted into the amazing monster, I wanted that cute puppy.  At the end of the film I was waiting to find out if the DOG survived not if the human or humanoid characters survived.  This is how much I liked this dog.

Arg... I'm going off on random tangents again.  I apologize, now back to the horror stuff.  So I came to realize that even though I could watch the slasher movies no problem before, now I look away or fast forward through the gory scenes. Now I'm not talking the 'safe' horror films, I watched parts of "Hatchet II", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" series, and some others.  These movies are intense if you're wondering.

I just thought I'd tell you that I can no longer watch the horror films that I used to be able to watch. I wonder what this means, especially with Halloween coming up.  Maybe I'll make a horror list, from the movies I used to watch or maybe I'll just go for the cutesy Halloween product (Great Pumpkin, anyone?) we shall see what happens, until then I will be pining for John's dog.

The Bachelor: A Beautiful Disaster

The Bachelor is one of those shows that is so very fun to watch, because you have to believe that contestants know that the odds are against them finding real truly everlasting love.  The two most recent couples to come from the franchise, Jef and Emily, and Ben and Courtney have called it quits. I wish I could say that I was rooting for you guys but sorry, not so much.  I have only seen bits and pieces of Ben's season, but from what I gather from the magazines, video clips, and random rants from others-Courtney was mean.  Not like 'you talked about my mom' mean but like unprovoked mean.  I've seen some clips where girls try to apologize to her and she's like too bad you screwed up and I will never forgive you. Courtney, let me tell you something I have a Masters degree in Grudge Holding, so I'm telling you the truth when I say, forgiving someone feels so much better.  While they might not have said the nicest things, just forgive them, since they seem very genuine about their apologies, so accept it and move forward.  Also from what I've seen, Ben isn't around for the apologies so it can't really be motivated to get in good with Ben, just saying.

O.k. now on to Jef and Emily.  First off I did watch most of Emily's season right up to the hometown dates, then I stopped, for whatever reason.  I think Jef is a nice guy, but I wouldn't have gone with him.  Instead go with Sean all the way.  Your friends loved him, I think he did the best with the kids in the park, if memory serves.  It should have been Sean all the way.  Jef, just eh didn't really do anything for me, sorry dude.  Emily  was too perfect and really too into finding out where someone thought they would be in 5 years.  Now I don't have a kid so I can't speak from experience concerning how I would approach dating with a kid, but newsflash-you don't know where you're going to be next month, let alone 5 years. I kinda thing that Emily was a bad choice for The Bachelorette just because there really wasn't too much exciting going on.  Now I'm really biased because I absolutely love Ashley and J.P.  I'm excited to know that they are moving forward with their relationship and just absolutely adore them.  Team Ashley and J.P. all the way!!  So compared to Ashley, Emily falls flat.  I really don't know what it was about Emily that Brad like enough to pick her, but there has to be something that doesn't come across on TV, that is in real life.

As for the next Bachelor being Sean, I'm excited. I want Sean to find a great woman on the show and hopefully both of them are in it for the right reasons.  The Bachelor was amazing in the beginning as it was a brand new concept, see if people can meet and find love in I think like 2 months with cameras around them.  Now unfortunately, it has become a breeding ground for famewhores.  I feel bad for the people that actually want to find love, but by this point you kinda know what you signed up for. Sorry future contestants hope you beat the odds.  Which are by the way out of 8 seasons of The Bachelorette 2 couples are still together, 1 of them married (Trista and Ryan).  The Bachelor isn't so lucky out of 16 seasons (15 bachelors) their is one couple that met on their season, Jason and Molly.  Note about this couple they got together on the "After the Final Rose" special and therefore aren't an 'official Bachelor couple'.  So good luck Sean, you're going to need it to beat the odds!

The Challenge episode 5

Camilla's version of respect
After Eric and Camilla lost the Arena, Camilla flipped  out and started cursing Eric out.  Okay I understand that you want to win the challenge and didn't like the fact that Eric quit in the Arena, but take this moment to reflect and put yourself in Easy's shoes.  Even if you guys win the Arena, Eric is here alone.  If he wins the Arena, then he sends home the only person that he is really truly bonded with, Devyn.  Devyn is working with her team, they communicate and are working together very well.  Being a team will only help you in this Challenge, so be a team and work together.  Team Fresh Meat didn't have the 3 or 4 months to bond in a noncompetitive environment.  This is probably what hurt their team most, that and Camilla.  On to Camilla and her  version of respect.  Camilla, I'm sorry to tell you this but cursing out your teammates is not showing them respect.  This might be how Bananas did things with you last season and remember how you didn't like it.  Maybe other people don't like it either, just saying.  Camilla was only the member of her team shown getting into fights with every member of her team.  These fights aren't just ten minute fights but are blowouts with tons of screaming and cursing.  Camilla if your team isn't working together, not getting along, and you are getting in screaming matches with everyone- it might be YOU that is the problem not Eric or Cara or Brandon.  Also Camilla you better hope that Easy wants to talk to you, cause there is more to life than winning Challenges and this guy knows this.

Brainy Challengers....or Not
Oh trivia challenges how I love you.  These challenges are so much fun to watch, because of the random answers that the cast comes up with.  For instance according to Jasmine Liverpool is the capital of England.  Probably the most disappointing category that the cast got wrong was U.S. currency.  Really... you don't know you is on the dollar bill, really? Anyway on to Trishelle and her sitting out, this challenge looked dangerous and if she did feel that bad it probably was better for her to sit out but I do understand Dustin and Alton's point about just being a place holder.  With this challenge the more people that compete the better chance you have to win.  By already being one person down you are kinda screwed.  Especially with that person being Trishelle.  Trishelle most likely knows a lot about the challenges and maybe has knowledge pertaining to the other categories too.  Trishelle wished you would have competed it's entirely possible that your team could have won this one.  As much as I don't like Frank in this challenge I have to admit he won this challenge for San Diego, by Frank getting so many questions right, he paved the way for San Diego to win.

Vegas dodges Balls
With Team San Diego winning and Team New Orleans  already going into the Arena, this means Team Cancun is safe and so is Team St. Thomas, since Team Las Vegas tried to turn on the alliance before they had too.  So San Diego's decision come down to Las Vegas or Brooklyn.  San Diego picks Brooklyn because they a want to wait and put  Vegas  in when it is a guarantee that Vegas will go home.  Sorry San Diego there are no guarantees in the Arena, so you really should have just picked them.  Brooklyn has already proven that all of their people can win in an Arena, so why not send in Vegas and hope that Dustin and Nany go in to the Arena.  Neither Dustin or Nany has been in elimination and this could give them the nerves that Preston and Mackenzie had.  These nerves could also lead to Dustin and Nany to losing the Arena.  Silly San Diego you should have took your shot at Vegas.  Oh well just hope that Vegas and Brooklyn don't wise up and come at you.

Challenge MVP of the week- Preston
Like I have said before, I don't really watch The Real World so I really don't know about the drama that is brought into the Challenges.  However, based on Knight's confessionals and Preston's own admissions, he isn't the most athletic male on the Challenge, but he held his own in the Challenges.  This makes him the the Challenge MVP of the week for me.  As you can probably tell from this blog, I don't necessarily believe that the person who is technically the best at the challenges  is the person I want on my team.  I want someone on my team who won't quit and won't start screaming when I can't walk through a challenge easily.  I count Preston as one of these people. Note to Knight, if you thought you had a better chance at endurance you should have gone in.  Keep you team strong for now, because that can only help you.  If you want proof go watch The Challenge Cutthroat final, a team will always help you in games where you are on a team, this is especially true this  season.

If They are Smart.....
So in this section I say, what moves I would like to see happen based on what has happened and where people's loyalties lie.  Since the Rookie alliance is for the first time out numbered by the teams not in the alliance, either they need to full on pick up St. Thomas or St. Thomas needs to join Brooklyn  and Vegas to start an alliance of their own.  With the numbers in Turkey dwindling, an alliance isn't really crucial in keeping your team in the game. What keeps you in the game at this point is you and you winning.  This being said New Orleans probably won't make it to the finals, I would love to see them in the finals but I don't think they will be there.  St. Thomas needs to align with someone just  to cover their backs and give themselves an easier road to the finals.  St. Thomas needs someone because they are the only team without an alliance or at least a link to another team.  San Diego and Cancun have Jonna and Zach  while Vegas and Brooklyn have Sarah and Alton, these teams have each other's backs.  New Orleans is a wild card and seems to have bonded with San Diego as well as possibly Cancun this leaves St. Thomas. With a lack of ties to other teams, St. Thomas just might find themselves in the Arena a couple of times before the finals.  In short St. Thomas it's time to alliance up, and fast!!

Survivor Philippines episode 5

I've decided to format the posts a little differently. This is so you can follow my random thought changes and separate rants.

Tribal absorption
I did not like how Matsing was just absorbed without a challenge to play.  This is somewhat presumptuous on the part of the challenge makers.  Yes odds do say that Matsing will lose, but still they should be given a chance to play the challenge and if Malcolm and Denise would have been given the chance to play they could've won the challenge that was played.  Malcolm was the only one who lost a round and even then he came back and won his second round.  So shame on producers or challenge creators for counting Matsing out and not giving them a chance to compete and earn the right to keep their tribe around longer.  In short, I really would have loved for Matsing to be given the opportunity to fight to keep their tribe together

Welcoming Malcolm and Denise
Tandang and Kalabow seemed to take different approaches in welcoming Malcolm and Denise.  Immediately members of Tandang wanted Malcolm to join them and their alliance.  This reminds me vaguely of Survivor Tocantins and the Timbira's reaction to J.T. at the merge.  Every member of Timbira wanted J.T. to join them.  The Timbirains went even as far as telling him about others' strategies.  Note to Tandang-you just met Malcolm, and if he is like J.T. you are going to hand the million to him on a silver platter.  Kalabow's focus (at least on screen) seems to be on Dana.  Poor Dana, I liked her and she seemed to have the best chance of the girls on Kalabow to take it far.  When Katie did and interview I asked the people I was watching with, "Where did she come from?".  This is bad news for Katie, because if by episode 5 I don't know who you are, then you aren't going to around long or if you are then you don't win.  Sorry Katie maybe next time. Dawson I will talk about later, especially her final words.  Denise's interactions with Kalabow were shown more in depth after the immunity challenge.  I really like Denise and her attitude towards the game and challenges in general.  I hope she  goes far and Kalabaw kicks but for a little while.

The Challenges
Ahh....Abi Maria, you've only done 2 challenges by episode 5. 2 Challenges!!! That means every opportunity that Tandang has had to sit out people Abi has been one of the people to sit out.  Really!! My question to Tandang members, is what is Abi's value to your tribe? Why keep her around for this long.  You can throw a challenge to get rid of her... I guess her main value may be just the fact that with her on your team, you have one more number. On to the actual challenges, the reward challenge was kinda eh.  I really didn't like it, but it was an interesting test of strategy.  Well played by Skupin, throw yours totem in the air and knock Penner's off, by the time your totem hits the ground his has been there for at least a second.  Skupin wins with strategy.  Take note Pete-this is Skupin's value to you and your team.  The immunity challenge truly show cased who was the weakest links in the tribes and who was willing to help the links.  Note to everyone- in challenges where you are only as strong as your weakest link getting to the mat first doesn't mean anything if someone from your team is very far behind you.  Helping the weaker players only helps yourself and shows that you are stronger than some other people.  Getting yourself through the course as well as another person is a huge accomplishment.  As for Katie not being that good, it happens but the real blame I think comes from Kalabow picking Dawson to work on the puzzle with Penner.  Yes you want good puzzle people but you also want people who are able to work together doing these puzzles.  Penner and Dawson can't work together.  Maybe you should have put Carter and Penner on the puzzle, this way you have Denise as a set of eyes but you also have two people doing the puzzle that can work together.

Dawson and her final words
Dawson...why, why, didn't you out Jeff Kent as a baseball MVP while leaving tribal.  You're out of the game, out him or come up with some crazy story to tell people something.  I did however, love your final words and I think it's nice to want things, let me know if you get those things. Though, I was surprised that you didn't ask for a pair of roller skates too.  As to Dawson's strategy regarding Kent's former occupation, not too good.  Either tell him you know out right or don't say anything.  That way he either knows you know or he has no clue.  Dawson, you should have kept the secret and not said anything at all.  Especially considering, I believe that Jeff was the main person in the guy's alliance that pushed to get her out.

Matsing's Legacy
For those of you, who are big Survivor fans like me, you have probably made the comparisions to Matsing and Ulong. I would like to inform you that Matsing had a longer losing streak than Ulong and  Matsing officially is the most losing tribe in Survivor history.  The tribe won nothing at all, ever.  Ulong at least won some reward challenges but Matsing, got nothing.  Congratulations to Denise, Russell, Malcolm, Roxy, Zane and Angie you are a part of Surivor history as members of the tribe that never, ever, won any challenge.  Congratulations and Angie just for you the prize is cookies.

The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons

So I just finished watching The Challenge Battle of the Seasons, and I'm really disappointed.  The Challenge is going down really predictably.  I'm happy that the Rookies mixed it up in the beginning by coming together.  Now, however the Rookies are starting to act like the Veterans usually act.  The Rookies have gotten super cocky and as much as I hate to admit it, but Camilla is right.  The Rookies don't compete, they banded together and keep each other out of elimination instead of actually battling it out.  I like The Challenge for the competition aspect of it.  It really one of the only shows where at the end of the day, it's you fighting to keep yourself in the game.  By forming this huge massive alliance you're taking away from the competition of the game. Also teams within the alliance need to start thinking about how they rank in the alliance.

4 teams are in the alliance and potentially after the next episode there could be only 2 teams not in the alliance, with this information, alliance members should  start thinking about their place within the group.  This is really important for Las Vegas, though it seems that based on Knight and Nany's fight, Team Vegas is done with the alliance.  I am hesitant to make any declarations of being done, until a team is shown actively going against the alliance or disregarding their wishes.  With this being said, the alliance made good decisions overall.  By leaving Team St. Thomas in the game, you made it easier on yourself.  St. Thomas is a mess, the group can't make a decision to save their life.  Trey is all mixed up in the 'I'm friends with everyone business.' Dude, I'm sorry you're friends with them, but it's them or us...so they are going in, got it? When it really is you or them going to the arena, eliminate them, unless you want to volunteer right now for the arena and think you can win your way to the finals.  Trey seems to be St. Thomas' only weak point. From the conversation that Rob and Marie had with the alliance, the alliance likes them and Laura doesn't seem to get shown that much.  Therefore Trey is St. Thomas' only problem, so far.

I really don't want to say much about the fight or Knight's stupid actions, other than Knight is right.  They are playing a game, however, there is a line.  Throwing someone's clothes in the pool is crossing that line, because that really only serves to bring you to the front of everyone's mind and make you a bigger target.  This episode makes me think that the alliance will turn on itself  next episode and that maybe St. Thomas has a good chance to make it far. The team really doesn't seem to be doing too good, they do okay but not amazing, this might be a good choice to keep around.  Also, St. Thomas doesn't seem to be working together, they just kinda are two couples hanging out.

Now to touch on the romances, I love Big Easy.  He is in my mind a great teammate.  Alright, as long as you tried your best, that's okay.  As with people continually bringing up Gauntlet 3,get over it!! That was back in 2007 or 2008, that was like 4 years ago, are you the same person you were 4 years ago? I know I'm not, so let it go and let the guy show you what he can do and he did really great in the challenge this episode.  Just because the first couple of challenges weren't his strong suit doesn't mean he is not a competitor, so let him show you what he can do. Go Big Easy, hopefully you win the arena and stick go on to win the next challenge.  This is not to say I don't like Devyn, but I don't watch The Real World, so don't have as much invested in Devyn, emotionally, as I do in Eric.  For Alton and Sarah, I'll wait to see what happens.

Survivor Philippines Episode 4

So this episode makes me super upset because I  was really pulling for Matsing.  I really thought that they would win the immunity challenge and someone else would go home.  However, that was not in the cards for Matsing.  On to the other tribes since I'm waiting til the end to talk about Russell.  Tandang is the drama tribe.  I keep comparing this season to All Stars since that is the only season besides this one to have three tribes; therefore I apologize in advance for the multitude of comparisons that will be made in this blog.

So back to Tandang, I compare this tribe to Chapera from All Stars.  So why does Tandang remind a lot of Chapera? Well Tandang is on a winning streak, they strategists on their tribe, and they seem to have a potential couple.  One main differnce between to two tribes is that the girls (RC and Abi) came to the forefront in the beginning as the strategists on the tribe.  Pete has been shown to take his time in forming alliances and bonds.  I believe taking your time is a better move, this way you actually have somewhat of an idea of the person that you are getting aligned with.  Pete however, is proving that he thinks moves through much more than RC and Abi ever did.  Framing RC so that Abi is almost forced to bond with you more is genius.  By leaving yourself as the 'best' or only option left for an alliance means the person will always be loyal to you.  You have options but they don't and Abi and RC are slowly running out of options in their tribe.

Strangely Kalabaw really doesn't remind me of Mogo Mogo.  Matsing reminds me of Saboga and already stated Tandang reminds me of Chapera.  Kalabaw just kinda fades into the background.  It's nothing against the tribe, but with Matsing always going to tribal and Tandang has a lot of strategy going on, this leaves Kalabaw as the 'left over' tribe.

Ok now on to Russell.  I do not like Russell.  I think he needs a reality check, stat.  I understand the you like to win but you need to realize that you can't win everything, honestly you should have realized that a long time ago.  I'm really just amazed at his last words.  He was 'blindsided' by his elimination.  Dude, there are three people on your team.  With three people left you should just assume it's going to be you and prepare yourself for the worst.  Russell also said something to the effect of 'Survivor is not for me' sorry I don't remember the exact words, but I laughed at this.  I think Russell mentioned that he wouldn't come back, my response "Good stay away".  Some people can play this game and some can't, Russell can't play this game.  He just doesn't seem to understand that winning all the competitions is not the number one thing, playing a good social game is probably the most important element of Survivor.  Also his (what I'm going to call final plea) made no sense.  Get rid of this guy because down the road he's too much of a threat.  Really!?! In order to be able to start worrying about threats for individual immunity you have to make it to that point.  Worrying about immunity threats with three people left on your tribe is not too smart.

Let me know what you think, Kristin.

America's Next Top Model

This is one of those shows that every once in a while I get the urge to watch.  I am actually watching season 19 of the show right now.  I do not like the judging process this season at all. Including social media in the judging process is somewhat pointless.  This factor almost lets the judges say, "I like you, but social media does not." If the judge doesn't like a girl, then they can blame social media for the elimination.  The only way including social media in the judging would actually work is if live feeds of the girls was allowed.  This way people can make a decision about a person based on everything that they do.  By not offering live feeds of the girls, editors and producers have too much influence on the way that judging goes down.  I have no problem with this if the producers of the show don't pretend to take fan consideration into account.

Since I am watching episode 3, I feel like I should comment on the girl quitting.  I guess if you quit, it's better to quit sooner then get to the end and quit.  Still I feel like with this being season 19, you have a pretty good idea about what's coming.  Every year girls freak out about makeovers, let me tell you this you know that they are coming.  Makeovers have been apart of the show since the very first season.  So prepare yourself for the worst and hope for the best.  If you don't like the makeover, then stick it out and  see how far you get, you can change your look later.  The producers won't do anything that will permanently damage your hair to the point that it won'ts grow back, so it will come back.  Just keep that in mind.

The other thing I have to comment on in this episode is everyone talking about Maria going to Harvard.  For whatever reason she is held to a higher standard than everyone else in certain situations.  Getting into Harvard does not mean that you magically have a good attitude, or don't get mad, or anything else that the girls in the house say she should do or be because she goes to Harvard.  I really don't see how her going to Harvard should have any impact on her standing in the competition at all.  If anything I believe Ivy League girls traditionally don't do too good.  The only other  Ivy Leaguer  I can think of is Victoria from season 9 and she was eliminated in like the 3rd of 4th episode.  So Ivy League really might not be that much of an advantage.

Recap: Including fans in judging should come with live feeds, quitting over hair is just weird to me (especially if you know it's coming) and Ivy League girls shouldn't be held to different standards in certain areas, than Non-Ivy Leaguers.

The Challenge Battle of the Seasons

I love Wednesdays because both Survivor and The Challenge debut new episodes.  Unfortunately, I don't have cable so I wait until Thursday to watch The Challenge. So I watched The Challenge this morning and got to say was kinda disappointed with this episode.  The game is starting to go down in a predictable manor, with the alliance of rookies picking off the vets.  This alliance makes the game interesting for a while, but now I want to see the Vets win a challenge and a Rookie team lose, then some Rookies will go home.  I don't have anything against the Rookie teams, I just don't like to watch some teams get steamrolled and some teams get an easy road to the finals.  If you want money you should have to work for it and win a challenge or an elimination round.  That's just my feelings, to get money you should win some form of challenge besides the final.

Now I don't really watch The Real World so I don't have a base knowledge of the drama that will affect the teams.  Therefore the only team that I know all of televised drama from the past is Team Fresh Meat.  I think Team Fresh Meat should not have Camilla on it.   I would rather see a girl from Fresh Meat season 1 than Camilla.  Specifically, I would rather see Aviv or an original Fresh Meat girl that hasn't been on a Challenge since that season.  The rest of the teams seem to have a  good mix of drama, competitiveness, and ability to compete.  That mix makes the season interesting to watch and keeps me guessing as to who will go home that week and who will eventually win The Challenge.

At this point I believe that Cancun has a good chance of winning or at least making the finals.  They are in the alliance, but they are not at the forefront of everyone's mind, at least based off of what was shown in episode 3.  Team Las Vegas somewhat screwed themselves by even letting it be known that they considered throwing in Team New Orleans.  By  just considering this move, you are letting people know that you are not 100% committed to the alliance and if there are only 3 teams in the finals, Vegas based on this episode will be the odd team out.  Team San Diego had a lot of drama surrounding them in the first 2 episodes.  With  drama surrounding you, you are in the forefront of everyone's mind and this means when it comes time for arena selections, you are more likely to get picked.  Team New Orleans is being pegged as a weaker team; maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but I think it might be wiser to have a weaker team in the finals.

Think about if you can increase your odds by keeping a weaker team around longer, then wouldn't you.  This strategy worked for Tina on Fresh Meat, she said she knew with Wes and Casey in the finals, she was guaranteed at least 2nd.  Being guaranteed at least 2nd means your only real competition is 1 other team.  your odds go from 1 in 3 to 1 in 2 for whatever the grand prize maybe for that season.  I like 1 in 2 odds better.  Therefore I would bring New Orleans all the way to the finals with me. Who do you think will win?

Survivor Philippines Episode 3-Matsing got screwed

I am a huge Survivor fan and with the exception of a couple of episodes I've seen them all air on TV. This episode is one of those that is an exception, I only saw half the episode due to the need to do work around the house.  So having turned on the TV right in the middle of the immunity challenge I can't give my thoughts on the entire episode but I saw enough to have something to say.  Basically my thoughts are that the blue tribe got screwed.

Whenever there are more than two tribes on the show, one tribe inevitably got screwed when tribes where divvied up.  The only other time that there were three tribes was Survivor All Stars, during this season Saboga got screwed.  This tribe couldn't win any immunity challenge, in fact probably the only reason why they won any immunity challenge is because Jenna M. quit and Chapera potentially threw the challenge or at the very least wasn't good at puzzles.

This season's screwed tribe is Matsing.  Matsing seemed to start out so good.  They had a fit guy, a couple of fit girls, a man who lost one challenge the entire time he was in Samoa.  The tribe also had a wild card guy who reminded me of Russell Hantz, he just overplayed from the beginning.  Then the first challenge comes and because of bad strategy, they lose.  This can happen to anyone, you put the wrong people at the wrong station and you lose.  Then the next challenge comes and some tribe members can't do a part of the challenge.  The same thing happened with this episode's challenge.

The odd part about this tribe is that they have made some good decisions as to who should get voted out.  Zane made a 'brilliant' strategy play by telling the tribe he wouldn't last in the game.  Yeah smart move Zane, tell your tribe-the people who have the power to vote you out or keep you in the game that you can't make it the whole 39 days.  This move might work in Big Brother but in Survivor not so much.  Voting out Roxy was a toss up, if she didn't work around camp that's not good with the added mark against her that she wasn't that good at the challenges, she did need to go.  However, with the coupling up or seemingly coupling up of Angie and Malcolm, mixed with Angie not being the best at the challenges-Angie needs to go too.  It really is a toss up and who knows whether or not Roxy could have done the water challenge today.  So it really was a toss up between who needed to go first.

The other tribes seem to have their problems too, but at least they know how to work together.  Tandang seems to have more problems than Kalabaw.  I believe that Tandang's problems come from the "5 minute" alliance that Skupin calls it.  Really while competing for $1 million you trust someone right away, really!?!  I should say a disclaimer right now: I have never been on Survivor I have just seen every episode with one or two exceptions.  Now back to Tandang, the other problem is more like a disadvantage.

This disadvantage comes in the form of Skupin, now don't get me wrong I love Skupin and I think he should have been on Survivor All Stars, but this is a completely different game now than it was during Survivor Australia.  Also if my  memory  is correct Skupin never really played the game, almost like Russel Swan.  Skupin was a leader whose tribe rarely lost.  When either's tribe did lose, the person to be voted out was an obvious choice.  So no game play from either Skupin or Swan was really ever shown.  Penner is the only returner that we have seen go deep into the game.  Penner placed 7th on Surivor Cook Islands, we have seen his strategy before and we saw him play again in Fans vs. Favorites.  Returning players would be wise to be cautious with Penner on their team.  Penner is a gamer, entertaining to watch, but most likely not that fun to play with, as you never know if you can fully trust him. In fact I think that Penner is Kalabaw's only problem, at least as far as we can tell now.

Keep in mind, we see 60 minutes of footage for every 3 days.  We can't see everything and therefore are subjugated to the story that the editors, and producers want to tell.  So to sum up: Matsing got screwed, Kalabaw has the best chance to go far, and Tandang makes interesting strategy decisions.

So I guess that I should introduce myself, I'm Kristin and I'm 22. I LOVE reality tv and certain specific shows more than others.  I also love some shows on tv right now, but in general don't watch tv except for reality shows.  This blog will feature various rants about my latest obsession.  Be warned the obsession might be a new show or a show that has gone off the air, but I may have just discovered it.

So let's get to the first rant. This rant is some what sporadic since I want to get a lot out now. So first is one ironically is about Grey's Anatomy. Every couple of months I get on a Grey's Anatomy kick, where I get caught up on the latest episodes and re-watch the seasons that I have.  So right now I'm on season 2.  I just like how Meredith is kinda of a pessimist.  In a world where the female lead on TV has to either be in law enforcement, a romantic, a slut or just in general a mean person.  Meredith is a breathe of fresh air.  She goes through her life and deals with the crap that gets dumped on her and keeps going.  Her and Cristina aren't touchy-feely people and that's OK.  If you don't like hugs then it's alright; don't want to share, that's fine.  It's nice to have that on TV and there's also the random different people that are on the show.  That's refreshing.

Yes I do acknowledge that Grey's Anatomy is a medical show but I'm not a doctor and never wanted to be one, so the medical stuff is just kinda a bonus.  The romantic relationships seem to have real world problems and don't have the happy ending that many other shows seems to have.  These relationships are complicated and diverse.  It's not the same problems popping up time after time but instead new problems for every relationships.  That is what makes it fun to watch and exciting to see what will happen next. Go Grey's Anatomy for having a diverse group of characters and complex relationships, the medical background is just a bonus for those with an interest in the medical field.  For those of us that don't have an interest in the field, it's just a part of the characters and their lives.

Ok so that is the rant about Meredith, her relationships, and her show.
